Why did I receive an invitation email from Curve?
Curve is an online platform used by record labels and publishers to manage their royalty accounting process. If you received an invitation email, it means a label or publisher using Curve wants to send you royalty statements via the Curve For Creators portal. Once you activate your portal, you will have access to your latest royalty statements.
My invitation email has expired, or I can't find it. How do I activate my account now?
You can trigger a new invitation email by entering your email address here. When you still can't locate your invitation email, please make sure to also check your spam folder.
Curve does not accept the password I am creating. Why is this?
If Curve is not accepting your password, it means your password is not meeting the criteria. There are five different criteria, so make sure you don't miss one of them.
- Minimum eight characters
- One uppercase letter (A B C D ...)
- One lowercase letter (a b c d ...)
- One number (1 2 3 4 ...)
- One symbol (, ? ; . / @ " % £ ...)
Which figure represents what is due to me?
When viewing your latest statement, the Closing Balance figure represents the royalties due to you.
How can I receive payment of what is due to me?
Each record label, distributor or publisher using Curve may handle a different policy. It could be that they require an invoice from you, or it may well be they will make payment of the royalties automatically. Make sure you check your PDF statement, as this document may provide further instructions or provide a help email address. If still unclear, please contact your label, distributor or publisher directly.
What are the differences between all the statement files I can download from my portal?
There are six potential files you can download from your portal with each statement. The PDF Statement, the Statement Of Account, the Self-Bill Invoice, the Self-Fee invoice, the All Sales CSV & the All Costs CSV. The differences of these files, and how you can read these, is defined in this blog post.
How do I read the All Sales CSV?
The All Sales CSV is a spreadsheet and can be opened using Microsoft Excel, Numbers for Mac or Google Sheets. The file will give you a line by line breakdown of all of your royalties. To find out which columns in the sheet are most relevant to you, please visit our Understand Your Royalty Statements topic.
